I wish that I had the time to keep track of all the things Nolan says lately that crack me up. Usually they come at such random or inopportune times. However, here are a few of the things that I remembered to write down when we got home or after he said them:
(Also, I realize that these may only be funny to us because we're his parents and that they're definitely funnier as they happen and in his own tone of voice.)
In the pool the other day he asked me if I saw him do that "spec tacky ur" trick.
When we went to Scheels (AWESOME store by the way) in Springfield the other day, him and I rode on the indoor ferris wheel together. I don't mind ferris wheels, but I do not like the beginning part when they're loading the darn thing and you stop at practically every position (namely the very top). Even then, I typically have zero problems with heights, but with a 4 year old, my palms were sweating like crazy & he could tell! Did I mention he kept turning to look behind us and leaning forward to look down causing our cart to rock?! Anyway, he was as cool as a cucumber up there and even told me that I didn't need to worry because he wasn't scared. On the way home that day he professed, "Do you want to know something...that circle ride really kind of freaked me out."
When getting out of the pool, he slipped and fell off the ladder. He got a couple cuts on the tips of his fingers. His eyes got really big and he told us, "Now look...a piece of me broke OFF!" Definitely made me think of one of my favorite kids books Parts by Tedd Arnold (there's a couple sequels, too).
Everytime the annoying texting commercial featuring a flash mob comes on, he stops whatever he is doing runs to center of the TV and immediately does the little dance the guy does, chants, "WE ARE...", whips out his pretend cell phone, and shouts out "GOT IT!"
While it's true the kid can drive me a bit batty at times, he can instantly reverse any kind of mood that I may be in with one of his innocent, little comments. I'm dreading heading back to school and missing out on some of his wittiness.
LOL these were all funny, but I love the cell phone commercial one the best!!! That's awesome! :)
