Every now and again Nolan will do something or say something that just makes my heart swell with pride and realize that we are doing something right in raising him (even though that concept feels very tried sometimes). It's a great reminder and typically comes at just the right time. Today we had a bit of a hard time at the store when Nolan got a case of the "gimmies."
Tonight, when he was picking out his bedtime book, he ironically picked out The Berenstain Bears: Get the Gimmies (we love our Berenstain Bears books -- I think that comes from me, when I was little, my nurse at our doctor used to give me one every time I went for one of my many allergy shots - I love & will never forget Nurse Ann). After we read the book, discussed it, and then related it to today, Nolan looked at me and said, "Mom, sometime I want to give some of my toys to kids that don't have them, but not all of them...because I have a lot of them."
