2 Year Stats

We went to the doctor and the exciting news is...Nolan is back on the charts (sort of). He weighed in at 23 lbs, however, this was the first appointment when they weigh them with their clothes on rather than stripping down to a diaper. So, technically speaking, he's probably more like 22 lbs, but I'm taking the first option! This puts him back on the charts at 3rd percentile. He measured 33 inches, so he's at the 10th percentile on height. His head size was 19 1/4, but they did not give a percentile on that. We looked back at our records and at 1 year, he weighed 19.9 lbs and was 27 1/2 in. Overall, Dr. McGranahan was very pleased with his progress, and said he is following his own growth curve, which is excellent. He commented a couple of times on how energetic he was...he has no idea! :)

We start Spring Break after tomorrow, so we are extremely happy to have a few days off work with Nolan. We hope everyone has a Happy Easter, and that the Easter Bunny makes his way to your houses! I'll be sure to post pictures next week of Nolan in his Easter outfit!

  2. He's horrible at eating! While I was breastfeeding was when he ate the best and weighed in the best. He basically refused all baby foods, and we had to start him on table food early. They discussed us sending him to OT. He just has a hard time with certain textures - easy gag reflex, if you will. Lately, he's been doing better...just isn't real big on food (I wish I had that problem)!

  3. As long as the dr. isn't worried, I think he will be fine. Avery has always been small too. She's opposite of Nolan tho - once she got on table food, she did much better. Now she shovels it in with both hands. Right now she's at 21 lbs (18 mo) which I think was 10th percentile. Some kids are just smaller! :)

  4. I think Nolan is perfect. The way society is these days with overweight children and obesity, I would think that your Dr. would be pleased with his weight. Our doctor said exactly what your's said about how he is following his own growth curve. That's what is important. Little miss Makayla will be just like him - I'm sure. If not, smaller.
