Can you believe this little man is starting to smile already? Time is certainly flying by! Parker is now weighing in at 10 lbs 10 oz and 22 inches! He's in the 50th percentile for both and even 50th percentile for his head (YAY...as Nolan's noggin was always far larger than his tiny body)! See:

Each night, we follow the same bedtime routine that we set for Nolan from very early on. We always listen to our lullabies CD, play on the floor for a few minutes, lotion/massage up, and eat while drowsy eyes struggle to stay open. Nolan always went down so easily, Parker still is great, but he does require a little bit of a strategic rocking-style walk while very gently putting him down in his bassinet. However, (EVERYONE must knock on wood as you continue reading this) once he is settled he does GREAT! Initially, we'd start the bedtime routine around 7:30 and he'd be down by 8:15ish. He'd wake up sometime between 12-2, eat, then go back to sleep...again sometimes with some very strategic moves and then he'd wake up again around 4. Over the past week he's been going to bed around the same time and only waking up around 4 and then again at 6ish! We hope this continues!!! The night of his shots he didn't sleep as soundly, but in moments like those, I can't really do anything else but sing the song to myself as a very real reminder that "it won't be like this for long...this phase is gonna fly by" How very, very true? That reminder makes me more grounded and helps me put things in perspective, then during those hazy, tired-eye moments am I able to rock my wide-eyed baby boy with a smile while fighting the urge to talk to him.
There's a song on his Jewel Lullaby CD that gets me every single night. It hits home because it's so true, so while I'm looking at this:
