Last week was a bit of a rough week. Even after Nolan was feeling better, we were having some issues at the dinner table with him (surprise, surprise). However, this time, the issues had
nothing little to do with him actually eating the food, instead he insisted for several days in a row to eat while sitting on Brian's lap. Yes, it was probably a mistake to grant him this simple wish in the first place, but like I've said before...if it'll make him eat, we're usually gung-ho about it. After about the 3rd or 4th night of this though, I decided enough was enough (especially considering he still wasn't eating
that well). Here's the conversation that followed:
Mommy: "Nolan, you need to eat in your own chair."
Nolan: "But, I don't want to."
Mommy: "I understand that, but do you sit on anyone's lap at school when you eat? Do your friends sit on anyone's lap to eat?"
Nolan: "No, we have our own chairs."
Mommy: "Well, we have our own chairs here, too...you need to go back to your seat. Only one person in a seat at a time."
Nolan: "WELL....YOU have 2 people in YOUR seat, so there! Take the baby out of your belly, then!"
