Berrylicious

Once again, summer slacking has most definitely taken over.
Today we went and picked blackberries...and of course, we chose and extremely hot day to do so! I think the thermometer read 98 degrees when we pulled up at the farm (bare in mind that is not including the heat index). Regardless of the heat, this is becoming a tradition that we not only love, but also look forward to.

Although we've always known how great Nolan's memory is (the kid can recall things from SO long ago that I have to really think about to remember), he immediately reminded us to only pick the black ones, not the red ones, and to make sure they aren't mushy!

After picking 6.5 lbs of blackberries and 5 lbs of peaches we were on our way home again. To top off the afternoon, Nicole sent us Grandma Webb's Cobbler Recipe, and I must admit it made my day. It's nice to know that even though I never got a chance to meet my grandma, that part of her memory & tradition is being passed along to my son. The oven just dinged, so it's time for Nolan & I to checkout our creation and enjoy a scrumptious dessert for after dinner tonight!
