Rash, Rash Everywhere!

I know, I know...my son seems to ALWAYS have a rash of some sort. We know his skin is super sensitive, but this time took the cake! His rashes are typically localized and he usually gets some of the strangest things I've ever heard of (bare in mind, I worked at daycare/preschool for 4+ years while attending college and am now an educator). The other night, literally out of nowhere, Nolan developed a rash unlike any of his others...this was everywhere and immediately. The previous night he had been extremely clingy to me and whiny. Last night he was again clingy and whiny, but also had a low grade fever (100). I was a little worried that it could be chickenpox (although he was vaccinated - they can still get a less severe case) and then I had myself a little freaked out at the possibility of MRSA since a co-worker's 1 year old son is now hospitalized with it. Turns out it is enterovirus - a quite common virus and just has to run it's course (it's in the same family with hand, foot, mouth - ew...I mean, whew!). However, like most rashes he was most contagious before he even had symptoms.

So, not to be a mean mommy, but I always say I'm going to take pictures because he gets rashes so much and then never do. Well, tonight I did...but really, the pictures do not do it any justice. And, to further justify myself, he is acting 110% fine and ornery! (You will most likely need to click on a pic to enlarge to see it & the back picture of course has his usual bruise on his spine since it sticks out - typically the bruise is much larger...but Nolan is a tough lil guy)!
